Hand Dyed Sock / Fingering Yarn - There are many types of sock yarn at The Painted Tiger. You will find colors from wild variegations to subtle ombres and kettle dyes.

Tiger Twist - 2 ply tight twist 100% Superwash Merino, this yarn is spun specifically for making bouncy squooshy socks.

Tiger Sport - 3 ply 100% Superwash Merino, same squooshy qualities as Tiger Twist, but rounder. Dyed in self-striping colors.

Bengal Twist - A lovely 3 ply sock yarn with high twist, and made from strong and lustrous BFL wool. This is a true thin fingering/heavy lace weight yarn.

Silver Lynx- Looking for luxury? This yarn is Superfine Merino, Silk, Nylon, and real Silver. Great for shawls, wristwarmers, and anywhere you want a little sparkle (yes, socks too!!)

Panda- A great blend of Superwash Merino and Bamboo, this sock yarn absorbs dye in a unique way, leaving a muted  heathery look, and the fabulous shine of bamboo. A great choice for socks due to the antibacterial properties of bamboo, but also fabulous in garments where you want some drape.

Fillet of Sole - This is not a type of yarn, but a special prep. I take one of my premium yarns and knit it up double stranded into a sock blank, then hand paint each one. You unravel (or I'll frog and ball it for you) as you knit two socks at a time, marveling at the amazing complex colors that unfold.
Fiber Fiber Fiber!- Is spinning or felting your gig? Enjoy colorful hand dyed fibers such as Corriedale Wool, BFL (Blue Faced Leicester), Superwash Merino, Merino / Tencel blend, Polwarth, Wensleydale, Bamboo, Tussah Silk, and Firestar. Special offerings of batts may pop up from time to time, also!
