You may (or may not) have noticed that I’ve been ‘out of action’ for awhile. Here is what I’ve been doing!
Our family took a little trip for my dd’s birthday. We saw a show, and enjoyed time in the hotel pool (all to ourselves, since it was mid-week). When we got back, there was a choir gig, a gigantic box of yarn and roving (yep, it’s here!!), and plenty of gardening to do. We also scoped out the local May craft fair in an effort to decide if we wanted to be in it next year.
Today? Today I dug up giant clumps of hosta and divided them to make a huge border area near our ‘cliff’. I’m hoping the tough roots and corms of hosta will help hold our slope up, plus it just looks much nicer than the weeds that were there before. When I finished, I really felt like I had accomplished something, and was ready to sit and veg the rest of the evening.
Ah, but dh brings home the long awaited music for the June Pops concert. So, we got out our trumpets and practiced that for an hour, which we will need to do every night until the concert. Then I needed to check my email (still trying to get caught up on my yahoo groups, since I was away from the computer for 2-3 days).
Well, Pam at Yarny-Goodness is running out of ‘A Slice of Heaven & Earth’, so I need to make more. I closed the sock club today, and I need to get started winding those long skeins. I also have a custom order waiting. So, I’m glad I got some gardening done today, since it looks like I won’t have much time the rest of the week!
I do have some great yarns that are dyed, they just need to be wound and photographed, so I hope to have something for you to drool over on Fiber Friday this week. In the meantime, I hope you too are enjoying the spring weather.
Looking forward to your yarns on Friday. Your Hosta dividing and planting may just be the motivation I need to get some perennials under control here.
