Falling Leaves – Tiger Club Reveal – September 2014

Inspired by this lovely perspective shot of a tree in full autumn splendor, I pulled out shades of red, gold, and brown.  The result is our September Tiger Club, “Falling Leaves”.

Our fiber is Shetland, and oh, what a batch!  It is so soft and squooshy!  Spin it from the fold or make rolags for a traditional woolen spin.  The tonal randomness of this top will lent itself well to pairing with something else in your stash to extend it, or ply with itself.

Our yarn is affectionately knick-named ‘Cement’ for the abbreviation SMNT (superwash Merino, Nylon, Tencel).  The Tencel doesn’t take the acid dye, but lends a nice sheen to the yarn.  Between the nylon and the tencel, this should indeed wear like cement!  Let me know what you thing, it’s club exclusive for now, but if it is well liked I can be convinced to add it to the store line up.  The dye method is ‘organized chaos’, and with the short color bursts it should make a mottled pattern….all those leaves raked up in a pile around your ankles!
