Fiber Friday, February 22

Here’s what is Fresh from the DyePot this week!

Fiber Friday for February 22

In the top row:  Sunflowers, Robin’s Egg, Fresh

Middle:  Wisteria, Princess, Tropical Rainbow

Bottom:  Love Lies Bleeding

Most of these hand dyed yarns are on the Superwash Merino & Nylon sock yarn, Princess is on the Single Ply Lopi Style yarn that I carry.  They will all be appearing in on ThePaintedTiger sometime on Friday, and a couple of them will also be in my Etsy shop.

Love Lies Bleeding got its name due to too much time spent in seed catalogs!  This is a variety of Amaranth, and the name and color just jumped out at me.  It is a delighful semi-solid.  I guess I just can’t wait for spring to get here.  We haven’t had such a hard winter in Iowa for years.

Scarves

As of 2011, I no longer make these scarves.  Sorry!

Here are a collection of scarves I’ve knitted over the past month or so.

This first scarf was requested by a Dr. Who fan.  The full length scarf is rather unwieldly, so I created a more managable version of it.Dr. Who style scarf

This three color scarf is in the progress of being custom knit for a hockey player in team colors of black, red, and white.

This tan/warm brown and black striped scarf and hat set is being sported by a fine young man.

And finally, I made a scarf for myself! *Gasp!* My previous one had seen better days, and it is always helpful to wear something that you sell.   Although not striped like my usual scarves, this is still a nice scarf, and was easy to make.

I have quite a bit of newly dyed yarn drying, so there will be some yarn pr0n in the near future!

A new site, a new Blog

Well, here is my first post on WordPress.  I had hoped to import all my blogger posts, but I haven’t managed to get past the error messages yet.  So, you just get me.  Oh, and I’ll share a yarn picture!

Anyway, you can see that I am trying to get going here with my own independant webstore.  Encouragement is required, and I am learning many new things all at once, and going through the tutorials can be tricky, since some things I cannot do until some other things are done that I can’t do right now (follow that?!)  I’ll get it all straightened out soon, and be adding yarn here for you to purchase!

FB Webring

Fiber Barista’s….please fill out this form to join the webring. You can put your main site in instead of your blog, if you like….but you have to link to a page where you plan to put the webring code so people can go to the next site.

Site entry URL
HTML code URL (leave blank if same as entry URL)
Site ID
(letters and/or digits. Your Choice!)

You will be taken to the Alt-ring site, where you can get the code in the left column, or it will be emailed to you.

You can get the picture here: (right click the picture and “save as”, then upload to your hosting.)   Get the URL of it, and paste into the spot in the code for it. If you do not want the picture in there, cut out this line of code:

(center)(b)(a href=”http://FiberBaristas.blogspot.com”)(img src=”IMAGE URL” alt=”Fiber Baristas Webring”)(/a)(/b)

I changed the <> into () so it would show here as code.

You are welcome to tweak, etc, if it is not the right size. I can help if needed.
